Breakfast
Puttu with kadala, appam and stew, idiyappam, soft idli and ghee roast dosa. Served with strong filter coffee and Malabar chai.
Ruchiram brought a Malabar kitchen to Kattigenahalli — the same grinding stone recipes, the same coconut oil, the same short menu that changes with what the market gives us that morning.
What we cook
We do not try to cook everything. We cook Kerala food — breakfast off the steamer, a midday meal that arrives in small steel bowls, and an evening menu built around the fish and meat that came in that day.
Coconut is grated in the kitchen. Masalas are ground here. Curry leaves and coconut oil go in because that is how the dish is supposed to taste, not because it photographs well.
Puttu with kadala, appam and stew, idiyappam, soft idli and ghee roast dosa. Served with strong filter coffee and Malabar chai.
Rice, sambar, thoran, avial, pickle and pappadam, with fish curry or a vegetarian spread. Unlimited rice, as a meal should be.
Biryani from the pot, nadan chicken curry, beef fry with kappa, fish moilee, and pazham pori when the kitchen is not too busy.
Bulk orders
Weddings, housewarmings, office lunches and family functions across north Bengaluru. A vegetarian sadya served on the leaf, biryani by the pot, or a mixed menu put together around your numbers.
Give us a few days' notice for large orders so we can source properly. Call and we will talk through the menu and the count.
